I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communications and Networking at XJTLU. I received my Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, in 2014. I received my M.Eng. degree and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2019 and 2023, respectively. Before joining XJTLU in April 2025, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Hybrid Positioning Research Group (HPRG), UESTC, from 2023 to 2024, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the KU 6G Research Center, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, from 2024 to 2025. From 2014 to 2016, I worked as a Site Engineer (contractor) for Ericsson (Ghana) and TIGO (Ghana). Till now, I have co-authored over 40 SCI papers in top journals such as IEEE COMST, IEEE TMC, IEEE TVT, IEEE TNSM, IEEE TSC, IEEE IoT-J, IEEE COMMAG, IEEE Systems Journal, Elsevier's JNCA, and FGCS. I have also published and presented at top conference venues such as IEEE INFOCOM and IEEE GLOBECOM. I am a peer-reviewer for more than 40 IEEE, Elsevier, and ACM journals. I am also currently a Guest Editor for the Special Issue: Positioning and Sensing Technologies for Ubiquitous Mobile Intelligence at MDPI Sensors. My research interests include 5G/6G wireless networks, Autonomous Driving (AD), Automated Valet Parking (AVP), Large Language Models (LLMs), reinforcement learning, vehicular networks, target positioning, blockchain technology, and game theory.
Prospective Students: I am seeking self-motivated students to work with me on LLM-assisted Collaborative Perception for Intelligent Parking Scheduling and Path Planning in Automated Valet Parking and Charging (AVPC) Systems; FYP and Master's students are welcome to reach out via the following email: Gordon.Boateng@xjtlu.edu.cn
